I quizzed my husband on this list and he actually got almost half of them right! No love for Bob Gibson?

Great list, pastor, and it's tough to quibble with any of them.

But at third, I like Mike Schmidt. He didn't have Brooks' glove -- his fielding percentage was .955 compared with Robinson's .971. But he still won plenty of Gold Gloves.

And his offense more than makes up for any defensive lapses, especially the power numbers: 548 home runs (averaging 37 a year) and 1,595 RBIs (an amazing 107 a year).

Add in three MVPs and I think he's the best all-around third baseman to play the game.

Interesting, though, both Schmidt and Robinson finished their careers with identical .267 batting averages.

So maybe it's a tie ...

Great list Pastor. The "neat" thing about the all-time lists is it can produce such interesting discussion. Although I must admit yours is so good that's there's very little wiggle room for any opposing opinion. The only two differences I have are, Bill Dickey (catcher) and Edward "Whitey" Ford for LHP (longer career, with an impressive winning percentage, especially in light of Casey always holding him out in order to pitch against the other teams ace). But it is heart warming to see all of the Yankees on your list.

I like Bob Gibson as a righty...but hey I am Texas so Nolan Ryan wins out....also like Warrn Sphann as a lefty....First is tough with Gehrig but Musial and Kaline were great at first..Hornsby at 2nd but what about modern day..Joe Morgan?
