DEVOTIONAL LIFE

By now, we are full speed ahead into 2009. Tell me...how are you doing on your resolutions? With all our desires to lose weight, floss, walk the dog, get out of debt, etc., I hope we are all highly motivated to grow in our faith and obedience to our Great God. There is no greater goal, nor joy in fulfillment, than to honor Christ with a life fully devoted to Him. One of the keys to success is a daily time of prayer and Bible reading, study, and memorization. A quiet time or devotional is essential to spiritual growth and personal faith. Why not make it your holy ambition to know and grow in God's Word as never before? In the next several blogs I want to share some things I have learned about enjoying a daily time with God. In the meantime, make the Lord Jesus a promise that you will spend more time with Him and live each day in the fullness of His Spirit.

Pastor Graham, I made a resolution to declare God's presence in my life and my family's life rather than focusing on my circumstances. I have come to the place in my life where hearing from Him is like needing oxegyn and that's where he's always wanted me to be and that's where he wants us all to be. The only way I can HEAR from Him is to walk in repentence, spend time with Him and be willing to actually carry out His will for my life. I remember a sermon you preached where you said, "God won't show you His will until HE KNOWS you are ready to carry it out." Well, I'm there and I can't wait for him to reveal His will to me! I have made it part of my day for the last 3 years to spend time with Jesus but this year I come into His presence with a different attitude. An attitude of great expectation of what He wants ME to do and waiting to do anything until I do hear from Him. I have zero confidence in my flesh, I am NOTHING without Him!! Praise God for His faithfulness.

Pastor,
The message and the choral music in the service today was awesome!
I truly felt like I was in church even though I am in NC. The music was really worshipful. I guess I am of the older school, I love the hymns and the melodious music rather than so much beat. The music lifted my spirit and soul to a higher level, so when you spoke the Word, I was open and ready to hear what my Father wanted to talk to me about. Thank you so much.

I came to knowledge of end time prophecy in 1982 and for years I have believed Jesus is going to come soon! I can see that his coming is more evident now than any other time in the past 27 years. So now that I am facing health issues and Jesus' eminent return I have also been facing my own mortality that has brought me face to face with death and facing Jesus. This vision has pained me so because I have wasted so many years in not growing spirtually by following the flesh and not Jesus. Though I could list circumstances in my life for the reasons I now know it does not matter. What matters is all the missed opportunities I have had in living for and leading others to Jesus. I am dedicating my life now to a daily walk with God and though my path will not be easy as I am married to an alcoholic who is turned off by religion. Right now my husband thinks I have been spending my morning studying for the CPA exam when in fact I have spent the morning watching your webcast sermon, listening to How to Live in the Last Days from Power Point and now leaving a comment on your blog. I have written your five suggestions in living in the last days and I am working on the first four so that I can do the fifth victoriously! I want to be someone who leads others to Jesus because I know that there is nothing else in this world that is more important than living for and leading others to him.

God Bless you Jack and your ministry!

Lisa's comments could very well be mine so I ditto her comments.

I live in Arkansas but am originally from Dallas. If I was still in Dallas I know I would attend Prestonwood. I enjoy listening to your services each week.
