Keeping it Simple

I am on the last week of my summer break and enjoying some down time...included is Olympics watching. Of course, the star of the show is the Golden Boy himself, Michael Phelps. With eight gold medals this summer, he is being called the greatest Olympian in history. I especially enjoyed reading about his 10,000-calories-a-day diet, and immediately went out and ate a double cheeseburger and fries at one of my favorite places on earth...In-N-Out Burgers. This was easy since we are in Southern California. Unfortunately, my exercise output does not equal the intake!! Anyway, In-N-Out is one of the best burger places ever. They don't do chicken or tacos…just burgers, fries, shakes and soft drinks. Very simple. Very delicious.

In thinking about church and ministry, this is what we should do…keep it simple and basic. Deliver the Word of God and testimony of Jesus with simplicity and clarity, and structure the church to accommodate growth and discipleship. I am really ready to get back in the pulpit next weekend and intend to serve it up. In the meantime, a few more In-N-Outs and a long, long walk on the beach!

you need to go off menu and get a 4X4 - four pieces of meat and four pieces of cheese. Just order it as a 4X4 and they will know what you mean.

Your restaurant analogy can go one step further. I work with a lot of fast food chains who believe their key to growth is to diversify their menu. Literally 80% of the new items they introduce fail and disappear within 2 years. That's because at their heart, consumers want to be fulfilled by what they know is good, reliable, and of consistent quality.

IN-N-OUT Burgers are awesome Burger joint. No question's yes they are one of the best. When are you going get the one in your FOOD COURT at Prestonwood ... Pastor Jack. Do you remember when I sent you T-shirt of their for you to have? I hear a lot of local Pastor's local here in Sacramento are "water down " the gospel now and not standing up for truth. We are in the "last days" and need to be firm on teaching the truth and not compromise the gospel message. Pastor Jack ... I like say again you are man of God and look forward to see you in person again someday, when we meet again. Love you ... Dean Diebel

Did you know that in and out has scripture printed on the bottom of their cups and burger bags!! Just thought you would like a little extra side of love to go with those calories!!!

Pastor, you are definitely the "Man" In-N-Out is awesome! I always make several stops there when I'm in AZ. Although I must say our own Mooyah Burgers right "down the street" from Prestonwood runs at least a close second to In-N-Out.
It will be great to have you back in the pulpit.
