Prayer in The House of Representatives
If you missed C-SPAN, here's video of my prayer opening the day's proceedings in the House of Representatives. Below, you'll also find the transcript of my prayer.
Heavenly Father,
We are blessed by Your presence, amazed by Your grace, and dependent upon Your strength for every day. We praise You for Your abundant provision and we are forever grateful for Your strenghtening, sustaining love. We do not take these blessings for granted. We make it our Holy Ambition to glorify you as we offer our lives in devoted service to Your kingdom first and to our beloved country.
We pray for one another with the confidence that you hear repentant hearts and respond to those who humbly seek to obey You and live by Your wisdom.
We pray for personal renewal and robust faith, and a vibrant vision for the future. Remembering that righteousness exalts a nation, we turn to You and trust You to not only make us great, but to make us good.
We pray in the Name of God who is able to raise His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to life and give us an Eternal Hope in Him. Amen.

Once again, I am so grateful to U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson for inviting me to deliver this prayer. I will forever be thankful for his courageous, lifelong service to our country.

Praying in The People's House
I'm delivering the opening prayer at U.S. House of Representatives tomorrow. I have a high regard and respect for our nation and consider it a privilege to be asked to pray in The People's House. I'm especially honored to have been asked by an American hero like U.S. Representative Sam Johnson. I'm also in the D.C. area (along with PowerPoint Executive Director Scott Seal and PowerPoint Director of Operations Josh Graham), for a listener rally with WAVA-FM on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Fair Oaks
Church in Fairfax, Va. If you live in the area, stop by and say hello.

"Choosing Wisdom Over Foolishness"
I've been getting a lot of response on my message "Choosing Wisdom Over Foolishness" from a few weeks ago about abstaining from alcohol. It's part of my current message series from Proverbs titled CHOICES: Finding the Doorway to Godly Living.
Many have asked where they can hear the message. Click on this link or on the graphic below to view the message.

A HISTORIC TIME AT PRESTONWOOD
I’m so grateful for the excitement among our Prestonwood church family regarding the addition of a third campus. Please take a few moments to hear this message, and make every effort to attend Worship Services this weekend as we move forward with the chance to approve and affirm this God-given opportunity. You can also find more information about the proposed Dallas Campus at prestonwood.org/dallas.

PRAYERS & OUTREACH FOR JAPAN

The people of Prestonwood have a heart for the hurting, whether locally or across the world. Our heart aches for the people of Japan who have experienced unfathomable devastation from not only the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami, but also from the ongoing nuclear crisis.

We have been praying fervently as a church family. This weekend we will receive an offering during all six of our worship services to provide assistance. Our Victim Relief Team will soon travel to Japan to help with the physical and spiritual needs of the people. And we will continue to support Southern Baptist missionaries in Japan and their ongoing presence in the nation. As a church, we are committed to short-term and long-term assistance to this country where only two percent of the people are Christ followers. The images we have seen will forever be embedded in our minds and serve as a stark reminder of the many souls lost because they’d never heard the Gospel message. We long to provide physical assistance and, most importantly, the hope and salvation that is found only in Jesus.
