I guess I get to leave the first comment. My wife and I haven't been to church yet this weekend (it's Saturday night about 10:45 p.m.), but happened to catch a news story on Yahoo about "Plano Megachurch expands in North Dallas." My wife and I cannot wait to hear what you have to share tomorrow morning at 11:00, but I must tell you we are excited.
I had attended Hillcrest Church previously as a single starting in 1998 when I moved to Dallas from Ft. Worth. My wife and I then attended Hillcrest Church from 2000 when we got married until around the spring of 2003, but felt God calling us at that time to a new congregation.
What's interesting though, is that I actually sat on the architectural committee that helped build the majority of the expansion of that campus. God also led my wife and me to sow the largest financial seed to the church we'd ever committed to at the point in our marriage, which helped to build the new facility.
But I have to tell you I drive by that facility often, and I have often prayed for the church, the pastors, and have always asked God not to forget the seeds he allowed us to sow into that house, even though God called us someplace else.
Now, some eight years later, our prayers have been answered.
I don't know what involvement if any my wife and my family and I will have in the new campus, but it some small way I do feel like God has allowed us in advance to be a part of what God is going to do through Prestonwood North Dallas.
Please know we are looking forward to the vision you will cast tomorrow, and that we will be fully supportive of this effort 100%.
