I like many of the same Christmas songs as you do Pastor but "Mary Did You Know" is one I cannot listen to without welling up with tears at the very thought of Mary kissing the face of GOD, that is so profound......
"Silent Night" is probably my favorite, largely because the story of its writing shows God's provenance -- the damaged organ, a simple guitar, the rush to write something before services, and the result an unimaginable masterpiece.
I also love the less well-known carol "I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In." It must be my English-Irish ancestry and the unmistakable joy in words and music.
For Christmas classics, anything by Bing Crosby is fine -- he is the voice of Christmas to me. Well, anything except "The 12 Days of Christmas," which I consider aural torture. My family had a version by Burl Ives when I was a kid ... so bad it drove me from the living room.
Thanks for this item -- it puts me in mind of so many joyful celebrations of the season!

Pastor, I'm with you, I love listening to Christmas music all year round. I like all the songs on your list but you missed a couple of great ones.. Away in a Manger and O Holy Night. Another favorite of mine is Come Thou Long Expected Jesus.
Also, I am loving Chris Tomlin's new Christmas album. In my opinion, this is one of the best new Christmas albums I've seen in a long time. I know this is destined to be a classic for me.

So, after 2,000 years, the One whose birth started the holiday--the "holy day"--whose very name was used to name "Christmas" no longer is the theme of the top songs sung at Christmas. What a sad comment on our generation. Yes, these are nice songs, but without Christ, what joy is there in snow, bells, sleigh rides, trees or fat men in red suits? Our hope is in Christ who died for us. Without Him, Christmas is just another wintry day.
Love Christmas music year round. I'm with anonymous above--love Come Thou Long Expected Jesus by Derek Webb & Sandra McCracken. Beautiful.
