60th SURPRISES

I got flocked today! So, today is my 60th birthday (and, you know what they say, 60 is the new 40, so that’s what I’m sticking with) ... Anyway, I drove up to work this morning to find a flock of bright pink flamingos on the lawn near my parking space, courtesy of my good friends the Bradys and the Murffs. I could have sworn I was back in South Florida! It was greatness ...

Then I
walk into my office and there’s a huge balloon bouquet with a big shiny, silver “6-0” and a baseball theme going on complete with Baby Ruths. (I just had a great checkup with my friend and physician Dr. Kenneth Cooper yesterday, so I think I might be able to sneak one of those candy bars.)

Can’t wait to see what’s in store the rest of the day!

Dr. Graham:

This made me smile, Thanks for sharing. You indeed have had a banner year! Celebrating your anniversary in the ministry, your good health and now your 60th! I have only been a member since Feb. but my family has been so blessed by the ministry particularly the preaching ministry here at Prestonwood- more than you will ever know, Every week we feel like you are preaching to us. There have been many tearful Sundays of encouragement(especially for my husband- He has been a pastor for the last 25 years in small and medium size churches and is now churchless for the first time in his life and hoping to serve again as God wills.) It has been very difficult and yet God has been so faithful to encourage us through the preaching and the ministry of the church. Even the Sunday that you and OS celebrated your call, it was affirming to my husband and I both as we revisited our own call and our own history as we celebrated with you. It was life changing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My prayer today is that the Lord especially bless you and may you be encouraged by great moments like the ones shown here on your blog.
