Happy St. Patrick's Day

Too bad St. Patrick’s Day is identified with drunkenness and debauchery when the namesake was a godly, faithful missionary for Christ and the Gospel. Here is the prayer attributed to St. Patrick which invites the presence and power of Christ in our lives each day:

I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me;

God's might to uphold me,

God's wisdom to guide me,

God's eye to look before me,

God's ear to hear me,

God's word to speak for me,

God's hand to guard me,

God's way to lie before me,

God's shield to protect me,

God's hosts to save meAfar and anear,
Alone or in a mulitude.

Christ shield me today
against wounding
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,

Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,

Christ on my right, Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,

Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,

Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.

I arise today t
hrough the mighty strength…
of the Creator of Creation.

So with that …
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Pastor I agree the day we celebrate as St. Patricks day, should be a day to proclaim his great works.

thanks for your note

Thank you so much for your ministry. I am faced with several places of cancer on my face and nose. They said it will be a very complicated matter on the nose, as they will have to keep removing my nose until all of the cancer is removed, and then use cartiage from my ears, skin from my cheeks and forehead to produce a makeshift nose. It is quite a horrendous procedure, with disfiguring results. I am praying to find the best doctors for this. Reading the prayer, by St. Patrick, is of help with the terror that I feel. I want to please Jesus with my response to this shocking news. My fear is getting in the way. I am always encouraged by your words. God bless you for sharing His Word.
